There are some "Big Hitter's" in Heaven who we never heard of on this earth who changed the face of Christianity with their prayers!

My mother is an "Intercessor Prayer Warrior"...

I believe Intercession is one of if not the highest callings in Christ's service. Number one is that it is so critical to everything that happens between Heaven and Earth, and number two is because it is such a non-glamorous position in the Body of Christ!

In ministry we clearly see those on stage and who minister in song and preaching, and we are just starting to hear more about the role of the Prophetic. But the role of Intercessor is virtually obscured by the high profile roles in Christ's Body, yet more vital!

Intercession is to the tech dudes to the praise and worship service like the praying grandma is to the Minister! You rarely see or hear about them directly, but God help you if you don't have them! What goes on behind the scenes in the Spirit is far more integral than what we see with our natural eyes!

Now I've seen some pretty intense forms of Intercession that most Christians would have trouble swollowing! It is not too uncomon to hear of people feeling or sensing the pain or affliction of others. When the gift of Intercession is operating full tilt people will feel the full weight of another's burden!

There's an empathic phenominon as demonstrated by Jesus when He was told of the death of Lazarus His friend. However Jesus knew in advance Lazarus was going to die and then He would demonstrate His power over death at that time. So why would Jesus grieve so badly over the death of Lazarus when He knew in a few moments Lazarus would arize from the dead? Jesus wasn't grieving over the loss of Lazarus, but rather was grieving, and interceeding over the unbelief of those around Him! Now I know it's a bit hard to see that directly from Scripture, but I have intimate knowledge of this process!

When Jesus was sweating drops of blood in the Garden of Gethsemane it is commonly believed that Jesus was expressing human weakness and fear of His impending death. What we are not seeing is the fact the Holy Spirit was so heavey on Jesus He was interceeding through Jesus on His behalf! Say what? Absolutely! That was not the cry of Jesus having doubts of His mission, but it was the Intercession of the Holy Spirit! Not being in conflict with God's will, but manifesting as concern for Christ!

Another example of this is in the book of Acts when Agabus under the Spirit's control warned what would happen to Paul if he continued to Jerusalem. Even the saints at the time warned Paul through the Spirit... So even though the Spirit warns, grieves and interceeds for us, it does not contradict God's work!

I have seen some pretty amazing things in the area of intercession...
