Our trip to the Lakeland Outpouring was totally A.W.E.S.O.M.E! The glory and majesty of God filled the arena. We felt the wind of the Spirit, heard the angel choir (it sounded similar to the recording at Rodney Howard-Brown although it was brief in comparison), and witnessed many salvations and miracles. The lame walked, the deaf heard, the blind saw. Seven people watched a large tumor on a woman’s thyroid melt before their eyes.
Testimony by the man who can now see with his glass eye elicited a continuous ‘roar’ of praise that must have been audible for quite some distance. The same man’s legs (amputated just below the knees) had grown over an inch by Saturday evening. The interns are taking measurements to follow the progress of the growth. Already, his prosthetic legs won’t fit.
We turned on the television Saturday morning to look for a weather forecast and on national news heard about a woman who came back to life after dying from a heart attack 12 hours before. They attributed it to an experimental treatment. We thought there must be more to the story because it sounded like the medical staff was shocked and the woman was giving the glory to God. Later, we heard that a woman who attended the Lakeland Revival prayed for her. That is the 14th resurrection from the dead.
I took the above photo at 11:15 on Saturday evening. Over 50% of the people were still there worshiping. We had to leave at midnight when the bus came to pick us up, but most of us wanted to stay. I’ve never experienced an atmosphere like that – we just didn’t want to stop worshiping – even after 5 and ½ hours. And that is in addition to the 3 hour service in the morning. After we got back to the hotel, some of the women gathered in one of the rooms and continued to worship and pray until 5:15 in the morning.
The worship also continued on our bus trip home. There were 5 ministers in addition to two of us who lead worship. (There were 12 different churches represented.) The bus was equipped with a sound system, so we played Roy’s worship CD and Kelanie Gloeckler’s CD the worship leader who ministered on Friday morning. Many of us shared testimonies and prayed for each other. The gifts of the Spirit were flowing in a mighty way as testimonies turned into prophetic words. There were tongues and interpretations, personal prophesies, words of knowledge, and sharing of visions that several of us saw during the services.
Even though most of us didn’t know each other before this weekend, our hearts were knitted together. The pastor who organized the trip wants us to keep him posted so he can update all of us. There is great expectation that our lives and our churches will be impacted as a result of the impartation we received. The vision is to see this revival spread throughout the world until Jesus returns.
