Power to Get Wealth

Our pastor was reading Deuteronomy 6:10-11 last Sunday, and I was struck by the fact that the blessing (material wealth and security) God promised to His people – “large and beautiful cities that you did not build, houses full of good things, which you did not fill, hewn out wells which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees which you did not plant” – was a ready-made fortune!
I have read this before many times, but this time I began to wonder about the definition of “power” in “the power to get wealth.”
So I looked it up in Strongs. The word used is “koach.” The literal definition is “force” which can be used in a good or bad sense. The figurative definition is “capacity or means to produce.” Other translations are “might, power, strength, ability, substance, wealth.”
From there I looked up Deut. 8:18 in various translations:
strength to produce all this wealth – Message Bible
power to be successful – NLT
power to become rich – NCV
power to make wealth – Young’s Literal Translation
ability to produce wealth – NIRV – “But remember the Lord your God. He gives you the ability to produce wealth. That shows he stands by the terms of His covenant. He promised it with an oath to Your people long ago. And He’s still faithful to His covenant today.”
The same word is used in Isaiah 40:29 – He gives power to the weak.
Many of the other scriptures that use the same word refer to the power of God such as “He stirs up the sea with His power…” Job 26:12
Certainly causes me look at the “power” God gives us in a whole new light.
I’m sure this doesn’t mean it is unnecessary to be diligent – possessing the Promised Land required considerable effort, but as long as they followed instructions, it went very well. It wasn’t as if they had a resume of previous conquests nor did they have a business plan outlining the process.
” Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we could ask or think according to the power that works within us” Ephesians 3:20

Kimberly, thank you for your comment. I never thought of an “anointing” to get wealth, but that doesn’t seem like a stretch.
I pray for all the church to prosper. Why should the world have control of all the media and other resources? How else can we carry out the great commission?

this is a great subject (about power to get wealth)
infact i believe it is one of the most important subjects
related directly to the growth of God’s kingdom here on earth, much confusion n debate has prevailed on the
“prosperity gospel”
i strongly believe that God’s children must first
“GROW SPIRITUALLY” before they can be trusted with wealth.
please continue publishing more on this subject which will be blessing to believers everywhere

I agree about growing spiritually. When we trust Him, He can trust us.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these (temporal) things will be given to you as well.

I THINK THE CHUCH IS STILL DONT KNOW HOW TO GET THIS POWER, IF WE DO THE WHOLE WORLD WILL BE FOR CHRIST BECAUSE EVERYBODY DESIRE POWER AND IF THEY CANT FIND IT WITH GOD
, THEY LOOK ELSWHERE FOR THE POWER, SOME FAST FOR IT SOME PRAY FOR IT, BUT GOD SAID YOU SHALL REMEMBER THE LORD YOUR GOD FOR HE GIVES YOU POWER TO GET WEALTH.

i have read everyones comment and we all have our own opinions but for a fact God word does not change. I believe that when we allow and that is our will to want the power to get wealth he will release it in the earth that his word be manifested in that persons life. It is actually I believe on us to want what HE said we can have in his word. Now some of us believe in Christ BUT do we trully believe in his WORD because POWER is in the tongue, we can give life by it or we can produce death by speaking out something negative. All people desire to be rich, but do we really desire to wealthy(spirit,mind,health etc) I believe in the realm of obtaining that power we have to first ask GoD for revelation of it. I know sometimes I can read the same verse over and over agian but at different times he gives me a new revelation on how that word is being used for me or someone else at that time. When CHRIST put ALL power in his hand, I believe that it gave us POWER because HE died for ALL of us. Even when God word said he chose us we did not choose him I believe that he chose those who can handle that so called Power we all desire to have to be like CHRIST,that’s POWER. We should know that even when we recieve that Power we are enlightened to release that wealthy knowledgeto the others who follow in the kingdom to do the samething. That is when he said go out and spread the gospel,HIS power!

This power to get wealth has been promised to those who honor and keep the covenant . Those who are actively engaged in reaching out to others for the sake of the covenant being established in their hearts and minds. Therefore God gives that power to those who understand I am blessed to be a blessing not to consume on my lusts. But God says the children must remember where that power comes from, not just have memories or to just say so, but they must demonstrate that God is their source, by continuously giving and recognizing that all that I have are seeds to be sown into the gospel. Therefore the power to get wealth is the power of seed time and harvest.
As we continue to sow towards the gospel with that understanding. God begins to transfer the wealth of the sinner to us His children for the sake of the gospel. We cannot out-give our God, He takes from those who do not understand and gives to those who understand that it is He who gives us the power to wealth for the covenant sake . Brethren be encouraged and continue to sow into the gospel, harvest time is around the corner. To you who hear(understand more of seed-time and harvest), more( harvest) will be given to you .Mark4:25. This, my friends, is the secret to manifesting God”s abundant covenant blessings in the earth.

I agree. about the definitive word force. Is that kinda like star wars; may the force be with you? Im not saying it to be funny. But it would kinda make it make more sense. When I think of the “force” I think of the anointing to work and do of His good pleasure. So are you trying to say there is an anointing for wealth? I hope so because I am doing all the tithe, sow, work, steps but no reaping. Its like Im hitting a brick wall when I try to get ahead. Pray that my wineskin (mindset) will break so that I can let this wine (anointing of wealth) can start flowing.
